SB20 Australia SB20 Australia

You will find the most of SB20 sailing in Australia in its southern island of Tasmania, where a fleet of around 20 boats are competing on a regular basis. River Derwent in Hobart is usually the battlefield for the action, but the Australian SB20 Class always makes an effort to sail in other parts of the island as well as travel (when possible) to participate in international regattas worldwide, including the UK, Portugal and Singapore among the top.

What is it like to sail in Australia?

SB20 Australia has a busy calendar of events! The action begins in early spring and runs along the Australian summer, including the pre- and post-Christmas Pennant Series in Hobart. Annually SB20 Australia crowns a national champion as well as runs the SB20 Tasmanian championship. In 2018 the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania held a fantastic World Championship, which has attracted almost 60 boats. The fleet is packed with skilled sailors, that often take part in the Sydney to Hobart and Launceston to Hobart races, so the competition is very tough!
